Slipped my Mind

What with my goofy night-owl work schedule, and my leaving the house as seldom as possible, and my just-in-general scatterbrainedness, it has only this minute occurred to me that if we are to have anything even faintly resembling a Thanksgiving dinner in this house tomorrow, I need to get my ass to the store NOW.

A Jennie-O turkey roast: That's close enough, isn't it?

Happy Thanksgiving, Ilyka.

Don't totally poo poo the notion of eating out on Thanksgiving. A lot of restaurants do a fabulous Thanksgiving dinner. I've done that a few times with the wife.

Oh, heavens....1 brining solution, 1 26 lb turkey stuffed into a cooler with said brining solution, 8 pie crusts and 10 lbs of potatoes into Thanksgiving, I do hope you choose to eat out. Do it for me, do it in remembrance of me ;) Or, I extend the invitation to brave our farting dogs and come to my house....seriously. Cheers!

I intended to fix myself some turkey, but stuffed myself on cheese and crackers and kielbasa instead.

Eh. It's raining.

My mother works at a grocery store, and every year, on Thanksgiving day, there are people in the store buying 18 and 20 pound turkeys at 5:30 PM. FROZEN 18-20 pound turkeys. Don't know if they plan to defrost them with a blowtorch, or just have Thanksgiving dinner on Sunday instead of Thursday...

I followed your link from TW; perhaps I'll out myself one day. (c:

That was some asshole spoofing me, actually, but hey, a hit's a hit.

Shit, I felt stupid enough buying a 10-pounder. We did the cold-water bath defrosting method, though, and it worked out okay.
